When we come together as a community to listen and learn from each other, we have the power to impact neighborhoods, communities and lives. That’s what On the Table is all about.

What is On the Table?

On the Table is a community-focused, conversation-based initiative that builds community and inspires collaborative action. During the week of March 6 through 12, CCCF will host three virtual conversations that include key connectors and community members from Richland, Lexington and Sumter Counties, focusing on each community’s assets and strengths and thinking collaboratively about solutions. Join the conversation.

    • Richland: Tuesday, March 8 at noon
    • Lexington: Wednesday, March 9 at noon

For Midlands residents wishing to take action in their respective communities, Beyond the Table grants will be available. This year, we will award five $4,000 grants – a total of $20,000. Applications will be accepted between March 1 through March 31.

Community members wishing to gather for solution-focused conversations are encouraged to use existing On the Table resources, including our toolkits and conversation guides, to host conversations anytime throughout the year.

Your voice matters. And when we share our voices and listen to each other, we have the power to make our communities great. It simply starts with a conversation.

Who?

People living in Richland, Lexington and Sumter counties are invited to host and attend virtual On the Table discussions hosted by Central Carolina Community Foundation. Host resources, however, can be adapted for conversations in any geographic area.

Why?

We know that big ideas can spring from small conversations and that people invest in what they help create. At Central Carolina Community Foundation, we are committed to bringing people together to create a more generous, vibrant, and engaged community.

On the Table conversations are meant to bring a diversity of voices to the discussion of who we are, our vision for the future, and what we can do to get there together. What issues and opportunities should we address? And, what actions can we take together to make our communities better places for all residents?

What happens after On the Table?

For Midlands residents wishing to take action in their respective communities, Beyond the Table grants will be available. Applications will be accepted from March 1 through March 31. This year, we will award five $4,000 grants – a total of $20,000.

Survey participants from previous years of On the Table gave their feedback on what matters most to them. You can view past reports here.
